Getting Started

You may need to begin your search by obtaining the four-digit Standard Industrial Classification code (SIC) or the NAICS code for the company or industry you are researching.
Also, be sure to check the various company directories to see whether the company is designated as private or public, as this may determine the amount of information available to you as a researcher.

This is a good directory of businesses. Useful for finding subsidiaries, sales figures and businesses by type and geographic location. Also good for finding some professionals - doctors and lawyers - who have incorporated.
