Applied Science and Technology Full Text (UTSA subscription)
Offers indexing and abstracting of articles from selected journals in engineering, aeronautics, transportation, physics, computers, and other science and technology topics. Features full-text articles from more than 100 publications in these disciplines. Includes trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals, as well as special issues such as buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings. Indexing coverage from 1993 to current; full text coverage from 1997 to current. Updated regularly.

CSA Engineering Research Database (UTSA subscription)
(via Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) Covers the international serial and non-serial literature pertaining to civil, earthquake, environmental, mechanical, and transportation engineering including their complementary fields of forensic engineering, management and marketing of engineering services, engineering education, theoretical mechanics and dynamics, and mathematics/computation. Content includes basic and applied research, design, construction, technological and engineering aspects of air and water quality, environmental safety, energy production and developments in new technologies. Over 3,000 primary journals plus trade literature, patents, newspapers, press releases, conference proceedings, books and reports. Energy Fiche

Energy Fiche were put out by the U.S. Department of Energy covering most of the documents issued by DOE. The fiche also include items from other government agencies pertaining to energy. The fiche are especially useful for energy and conservation research but also have reports relating to chemistry, physics, biology and engineering.
UTSA Library has fiche covering documents from 1973 onward with a few documents before 1973. The collection is fairly comprehensive from 1975 until the fiche program was terminated in 1995. The fiche are filed by their report numbers.

Engineering Village 2 (UTSA subscription)
Compendex® is the most comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering database in the world referencing 5,000 engineering journals and conference materials dating from 1970. The database is updated weekly. Citations Only

Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management (UTSA subscription)
(via Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) A multidisciplinary database, including 12 subfiles, focusing on environment, ecology, energy, water resources, health and safety, pollution, hazardous waste, risk, bacteriology, and toxicology. Includes citations and abstracts, from 1981 to the present, from more than 4,000 scientific journals as well as books, conference proceedings, reports, and government documents.

Environmental Universe (via LexisNexis) (UTSA subscription)
Features access to a full complement of resources on environmental issues, including energy, air and water pollution, sustainable development and population, waste management, land use, biodiversity, global warming, and many others. Included in the database is access to Environment Abstracts, which indexes some 6,000 publications, many of which can be found in the Envirofiche microfiche collection (see UCAT, the UTSA Library online catalog, for more information on Envirofiche.) (Older reports are indexed in Environment Index JPL Reference GF1 .E5531) Also included in this database are full-text news, journals, and reference materials on environmental topics; federal and state codes and regulations; federal and state case law and agency actions; and waste site data and hazardous materials information. Updated regularly.

ScienceDirect (UTSA subscription)
Provides full text/full image access to approximately 700 journals published by Elsevier Science. Indexes and abstracts articles from more than 1,100 journals in the life, physical, medical, technical, and social sciences. Full Image

TOXLINE (UTSA subscription)
Offers access to information in all areas of toxicology, including chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pesticides, environmental pollutants, and mutagens and teratogens. This database, produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, provides bibliographic citations and abstracts from the care journal literature in toxicology. This version of TOXLINE does not contain information from Chemical Abstracts Service, BIOSIS, or International Pharmaceutical Abstracts; furthermore, it is a "rolling 5-year" database, consisting of records from the last 5 years plus the current year

Wiley InterScience (UTSA subscription)
Provides full text access to approximately 200 of the more than 400 journals published by Wiley, plus tables of contents and abstracts. Updated constantly. Full Image

DARTS (Depository Access to Reports, Technical and Scientific) / NTIS Pilot Project (Federal Depository Database)
Provides access to the full text of over 240,000 online National Technical Information Service (NTIS) reports from 1964-2000. Includes technical reports from a wide variety of sciences, including physics, chemistry, environmental science, and health and behavioral sciences. Access Restrictions: Free at UTSA Library, a Federal Depository Library, as a pilot project between NTIS and GPO. Access is restricted to users within the library. NTIS is the largest, central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information available today. Approximately 2.5 million products are available in a variety of formats including online, electronic, multimedia, CD-ROM , paper, and microfiche. Thousands of new products are added each week. Additionally, many records now include free links to the full-text publication on an agency's web site, or can be downloaded directly from the NTIS archival copy for a nominal charge.
