Multimedia Center Services & Collections

  • Borrow non-print library materials such as videocassettes, DVDs, records (discs), compact discs (CDs), slides, audio cassettes, laser discs or videodiscs, compact disc interactive (CD-I), CD-ROMs, software, curriculum materials, and educational and psychological tests are all available at the Multimedia Center. Some checkout restrictions may apply for certain materials.
  • Viewing and listening rooms in which small groups may view or listen to materials are available to current UTSA students, faculty, staff, and members of the Alumni association. Note: These rooms are not available as meeting rooms.
  • Headsets may also be checked out for use throughout the Library. Headset checkout is limited to 4 hours (see Multimedia policies).
  • Curriculum Resources - The Multimedia Centers collection of K-12 curriculum resources supports the curriculum of the Division of Education, particularly the methods and practicum courses and the children's and young adult literature courses.
  • Test Collection - The Multimedia Centers test collection consists mainly of educational and psychological tests. The collection supports testing and assessment courses in the Interdisciplinary and Bicultural-Bilingual Departments.

Services for Faculty and Staff

  • Course Reserves - Faculty may place materials on reserve that have limited circulation periods or that must be used in the Multimedia Center. In addition to Multimedia Center materials, faculty may place personal copies of videocassettes, DVDs, discs, compact discs, etc., on reserve. Reserved materials are available for student use whenever the MMC is open and may be used upon presentation of a current picture ID.
  • Off-air Taping - The Multimedia Center provides off-air videotaping of broadcast programs from the local cable system.
