UTSA Library Multimedia Center - Policies
General Policy
- All Multimedia Center items, with the exception of curriculum materials and textbooks, are kept in closed stacks behind the service desk. Curriculum materials and textbooks are shelved on open stacks for patrons to browse.
- Patron requests, with the exception of curriculum materials and textbooks, are taken at the service desk.
- UTSA students must present a current picture ID card to checkout items. Non-UTSA students must present a valid picture ID card, which is held at the service desk until items are returned; these items may only be used in the Center.
- UTSA students who have a "block" on their record may not be able to view, listen to materials or checkout headsets until the block is cleared.
- Headsets may be checked out for 4 hours for use throughout the library.
- UTSA students, faculty and staff have priority for use of Multimedia materials and equipment. Non-UTSA patrons may be asked to relinquish materials and/or equipment if needed by a UTSA patron.
- Group viewing and listening rooms are rooms in which small groups may view or listen to materials. These rooms are only available as viewing or listening rooms and may not be used simply as meeting rooms. Please review the viewing/listening room policies below.
Viewing/Listening Room Policies
Viewing and listening rooms, are rooms in which small groups may view or listen to materials. These rooms are available to current UTSA students, faculty, staff, and members of the Alumni association as viewing and/or listening rooms and may not be used simply as meeting rooms.
- To obtain a room, 2 or more group members must be present at the service desk. The person to whom the key is checked out must have a current Picture ID card. Rooms can accommodate up to 6 people.
- Rooms are checked out for 4 hours. Rooms may not be reserved in advance, nor can the checkout period be extended.
- No food is allowed in the room. Open drink containers are also not allowed. Non-disposable, spill-proof drink containers are permitted.
- Use of all tobacco products is prohibited.
- Talking or noise loud enough to disturb patrons outside the Viewing/Listening Room is not allowed.
- Please close the door and notify the staff member that you are leaving. Be sure to return any material that youhave checked out. Fines incurred because of improper return will not be forgiven.
- Rooms will be checked to make sure everything is in order.
